A machine particularly suitable for the thermosetting of needle-punched non-woven fabrics.
The thermosetting machine is mainly composed of 2 transport cylinders ø 800 mm with special anti-shrink seals. Above the cylinders, there are infrared radiant panels that treat the material on both sides, with intensity adjustable according to the materials being processed. The arrangement of the heating elements is designed to avoid empty radiation spots between one and another.
Between the first and the second cylinder, the tension of the material being treated can be adjusted as needed to prevent width shrinkage.
After the second cylinder, the calendering unit begins.
The calander's cylinders have a diameter of 600 mm and are thermoregulated with diathermic oil with an internal spiral or equivalent systems.
The calander cylinders can be crossed (cross-axing) to avoid potential skewing, with a special servomechanism.
The calander cylinders have a stop system that allows calendering to thickness; the thickness adjustment is servo-assisted.
In case of a power failure or emergency, the covers automatically open, and the lower calander cylinder is lowered, thus preventing the burning of the material being processed.
